A life worth living part 1
There is always hope. Change can happen.
Can’t you just…
The simplicity prophets make it sound so easy. But for most of us, it’s not that simple.
Can you see the difference between what you want and what you really need?
How can you start to understand your boundaries and how to defend them?
Can our own expectations and ambitions burden us as much as other people’s expectations? I believe so. Bring in enough realism to avoid setting yourself up for failure.
For most of us, a gentle and flexible approach will work better than chasing rigid and lofty goals if we want change to happen. Life is too complex and unpredictable to lock ourselves to one set of goals and one path towards them.
Do you need to make changes in your life and feel you are in a crossfire between other people’s resistance and resistance from within yourself? Most changes come with some degree of discomfort or pain for you or other people. But you don’t deserve life-long suffering in silence to avoid this.
If you need to make changes in your life, there are always two dark knights waiting to ambush you and knock you over: Sir Guilt and Sir Shame. Start challenging them today.
If you need changes in your life, there is hardly any change worth doing that doesn’t come with some discomfort or pain. Think of the pain as an investment to get a better life. If you feel it’s too much, move one brick at a time. Be kind to yourself and flexible, but persistent.
The first part of the A life worth living series is a survival kit for crossing “the mile before the door threshold”.
Take the first step and start your journey.
