Have you ever felt completely lonely in the middle of a crowd? Or perhaps even with your partner and family? I wanted to write a song for everyone who feels that way now. A song about hope. I wanted to say change is possible. It’s never too late.
Writing this song was a journey that has lasted for a while. The first lines of lyrics were written in Norwegian at least three years ago. But I couldn’t really figure out the direction the song was taking. Not until I met my present wife, and the story found its own logic.
December 2021. I travelled to Norway for my father’s funeral, and there was talk about closing borders because of Covid again. Could I return to England for Christmas?
